CE Requirements for Nurses in Iowa

Requirements specific to Nurses in Iowa

  • RNs and LPNs are required to complete 36 contact hours every three years. 
  • ARNPs are required to maintain national certification.
  • In addition, it is also mandated that ARNPs, RNs and LPNs who regularly examine, attend, counsel or treat dependent adults or children in Iowa are required to complete training related to the identification and reporting of child/dependent adult abuse. The licensee is required to complete the course offered by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
