CE Requirements for Nurses in Virginia

Requirements specific to Nurses in Virginia

  • All Virginia nurses are required to complete 30 hours of CE to renew a license
  • APRNs must complete an additional 8 hours of Pharmacology training for a total of 38 hours of CE
    • 2 of these hours must relate to prescribing controlled substances

Virginia nursing licenses must be renewed before the last day of the licensee's birth month
