Requirements specific to Nurses in Washington

Required Courses: 1

Washington LPNs and RNs are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education every year in order to renew a license.*

A RN and LPN must complete a one-time, six hour continuing education training in Suicide and Suicide Prevention. Please note the NursingCE's Suicide and Suicide Prevention training is currently under review for approval by the board. 

Washington APRNs must complete 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years. An additional 15 hours in pharmacology is required if you have prescriptive authority.

All nurses must renew their license by their birthday during their renewal period in order to remain in active status.
