- The Michigan Board of Nursing accepts NursingCE's ANCC accredited courses
- RNs and LPNs are required to complete 25 contact hours every two years, 2 of which must be in pain and pain symptom management. There is a one-time requirement for training in identifying victims of human trafficking but this does not count towards the 25 hours required for renewal.
- APRNs must complete their education requirements for the RN license renewal in addition to completing additional education depending on their specialty.
NEW: Beginning June 1, 2022, an applicant for licensure or registration must have completed a minimum of 2 hours of implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration. Additionally, beginning on June 1, 2022, and for every renewal thereafter, an applicant for license or registration renewal must have completed a minimum of 1 hour of implicit bias training for each year of the applicant's license or registration cycle.
Beginning September 1, 2019, individuals seeking a controlled substance license or who dispense controlled substances must complete a one-time requirement on opioids and controlled substance awareness (per MI Board of Pharmacy R 338.3135).
